We were all promised fuel cell automobiles in 2010. 2010 has now passed and we
are no closer to owning a fuel cell vehicle then we were a few years ago. It is
not that the auto industry doesn't want to start producing these types of
vehicles. The truth of the matter is they are simply trying to find a way to
make it more affordable for every day drivers looking to buy these fuel cells
automobiles.
Not only are they looking for more affordable ways to produce these hydrogen
fuel cell vehicles. They are also seeking any and all ways they will be able to
make it safe. It is well known how dangerous hydrogen can be. Hydrogen is one of
the most explosive gases we have. Not only is it the most explosive it is also
the most abundant among many of the other gases. It is even more abundant then
the air we all breathe.
Even though it is one of the most abundant gases we have. Does not mean it can
be utilized entirely by it self. There are ways to use hydrogen as fuel in our
current automobiles. However no one has designed a safe trust worthy and
affordable
fuel cell automobiles. Ford was one of
the closest to this feat in early 2008. However the design they came up with
would have required a large vehicle and not the compact vehicles we have all
grown to love over the years.
